The Centre for Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies is looking for its next cohort of exceptional graduate students. We are now offering a redesigned MA program with a new Major Research Project stream in which students can devise an original artistic work, while also learning and applying the scholarship of arts-based methods and research.
Both our MA and PhD programs are highly competitive and provide exceptional research opportunities and interdisciplinary connections while studying at the top university in Canada and in the heart of Toronto, home to Canada’s most vibrant theatre community.
Our new spaces located in University College’s north wing will offer you a contemporary rehearsal studio, reconfigurable black box theatre, comfortable student lounge areas, ultramodern seminar rooms and hoteling workspaces, and a highly sophisticated studio space for our BMO Lab for Creative Research in the Arts, Performance, Emerging Technologies and AI.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, we will host an online Graduate Open House where you will learn more about our program from our administrative staff, faculty, and students. We will discuss our curriculum, program requirements, funding, admissions and teaching assistantships, as well as our co-curricular activities and provide some details about our exciting new space and new MA stream! Our admission process will be open from October 14, 2024, until April 11, 2025. Admission decisions are made from October through April, on an on-going basis; we strongly encourage early applications (by mid-January) for additional award opportunities.
