Head of School & Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies,
University of Warwick, UK
The School of Theatre, Performance and Cultural Policy Studies at Warwick is seeking to appoint a Head of School & Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies, commencing 3rd April 2017. The School incorporates the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies and the postgraduate Centre for Cultural Policy Studies (CCPS). As Head of School you will provide overall leadership of the School (for a fixed period of 3 years), but your primary responsibility will be to run the Theatre and Performance Studies Department since CCPS has an independent director. You will join a vibrant, successful Department that is dedicated to research and teaching excellence, and you will be expected to offer visionary leadership and management as it continues to innovate in these areas.
In your additional capacity as Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies, which is an indefinite post, you will have a proven ability to deliver world-class research in one or more key areas of theatre and performance studies and be an active member of national and international research networks. You will have a clear research agenda supported, where appropriate, by external funding, together with a strategy for developing individual and collaborative research bids in the future. You will have a demonstrable ability to offer excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be expected to play a role in the Department’s new MA in Theatre and Performance Research, which launches in 2016, but in view of your duties as Head of School you will have a lighter overall teaching load at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Closing date for applications: 19 September 2016
